Speaker A:So now let's go in and share each of the guests Response to the question, what does a spirit led life mean to you?
Speaker A:We'll start with Jessica Borman.
Speaker A:What does a spirit led life mean for you?
Speaker B:You know, I think it's always trusting God's guidance.
Speaker B:You know, I try to align everything that I do with what I believe is God's purpose and what, what God is leading me, what, what the path that he's leading me on.
Speaker B:So I just feel like just doing everything with integrity and being kind to everyone that you meet and just trusting God's plan.
Speaker B:I've always just leaned into whatever He.
Speaker B:I feel like he places in front of me now.
Speaker A:Let's hear from Karen Hawk.
Speaker C:For me, a spirit led life is just always talking and interacting with the spirit, the Holy Spirit, you know, it's not asking him, is this your will?
Speaker C:Because everything is his will.
Speaker C:Yeah, he's not religious and so everything's open.
Speaker C:It's hanging out and listening, enjoying worship is really important to me.
Speaker C:Hanging out in his presence and worshiping is really the beginning piece.
Speaker C:But just I already know he's with me.
Speaker C:I can sense his presence.
Speaker C:You know, maybe that's something that, that some of the people on the.
Speaker C:That are listening, you know, learning to recognize his presence.
Speaker C:Holy Spirit, where are you?
Speaker C:Holy Spirit, I just want to feel your presence.
Speaker C:I've actually trained myself.
Speaker C:I trained myself.
Speaker C:Now it's just a natural part of me.
Speaker C:But when I was at Bethel, I learned how to position my heart and just say, holy Spirit, I just, I just want to recognize where you're at.
Speaker C:And to this day, if I just think of the goodness of God, I can feel the Holy Spirit, its presence quite heavily.
Speaker C:Do I not feel it any other time?
Speaker C:Oh, no, I feel it other times.
Speaker C:But when I focus and I turn my heart towards the Lord, he always meets me.
Speaker C:I think.
Speaker C:I think that's what a spirit led life means to me.
Speaker C:Recognizing this presence, always being aware of the goodness of God in my life, in every situation that is transformative and loaded with freedom.
Speaker C:If we can get a flat tire and still see the goodness of God in it.
Speaker C:Because there is goodness in the flat tire.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:It's hard to see sometimes.
Speaker A:Yeah, right.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker C:There's the time and there's the money, but you're safe, you're protected, you have the provision and somebody stopped and helped you.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker C:The goodness of God is constantly around us.
Speaker C:It's learning to shift our thoughts and our thinking, to look forward.
Speaker C:That's the biggest key.
Speaker C:The biggest key.
Speaker A:Now let's hear from Dr.
Speaker A:Tony Robinson.
Speaker A:What Does a spirit led life mean to you?
Speaker D:Oh, girl, it is freedom, it is fun, it's partnership, it is responsibility.
Speaker D:I used to think that a spirit led life meant I didn't make any move unless the spirit was leading me.
Speaker D:Unless God said go, I wasn't going.
Speaker D:If Holy Spirit, like, I wouldn't do it is like, because I want to live a spirit led life.
Speaker D:But now that I have a greater aware, awareness that you know what, the Trinity lives in me, the Spirit lives in me.
Speaker D:Jesus the Father is closer to me than the skit on my phones that everything I'm doing, I get to do in partnership.
Speaker D:And in partnership, it means that I'm trusted to live this life.
Speaker D:So my, as my kids started getting older, this has been the last few years, right?
Speaker D:I started realizing I can trust what I put in my kids.
Speaker D:When they were babies, they relied on me to feed them everything because, you know, I was their the source of nutrients.
Speaker D:So they had to rely on me.
Speaker D:As they became to get toddlers and we switched to solid foods, they still had to rely on me because I had to make the food.
Speaker D:And you know, and then when they begin to get like 6 years old and they would want a sandwich and you know, and it's like, can you make me a peanut butter sandwich?
Speaker D:Or.
Speaker D:And so they still, you know, they weren't able to just cook a full meal and cook dinner, so they relied on me.
Speaker D:But I used to bring them in the kitchen and showed them this is how you make a sandwich.
Speaker D:And you know, they used to have to ask, mom, can I have some juice in the refrigerator?
Speaker D:Mom, can I have some mil?
Speaker D:Or, you know, and it's like, yes.
Speaker D:And it's like, mom, can I get this out of the refrigerator?
Speaker D:And it's like, yes, you can get out of the refrigerator.
Speaker D:By the time they're teenagers, they're equipped to cook a meal.
Speaker D:Even if it's top ramen, they can still make that.
Speaker D:They don't have to ask me to go in the refrigerator and say, hey, can I get this?
Speaker D:They know that they have freedom to go in the fridge and pull out whatever is inside of there.
Speaker D:When they were younger, they had to ask so that I'm making sure that you have the capacity to pull out a big gallon of milk and not accidentally dump it on your head or, you know, you want to.
Speaker D:I walk in and there's like 12 eggs broken on the floor or whatever.
Speaker D:I trust that your maturation and development in their 20s, I'm no longer necessarily like looking to see What I can fix you Every day I'm watching to see.
Speaker D:I wonder what they're going to make for dinner today.
Speaker D:And then.
Speaker D:And now in their late 20s and 30s, I.
Speaker D:I smell food cooking.
Speaker D:And my daughter's downstairs making pasta from scratch.
Speaker D:And mom, try this.
Speaker D:What do you think about this?
Speaker D:And it's like, oh, this is good.
Speaker D:Do you think it needs anything?
Speaker D:You know what?
Speaker D:Maybe a little bit more parmesan, a little bit more garlic, and you got it down pat.
Speaker D:It's like, this is so good.
Speaker D:You know what?
Speaker D:And I trust her.
Speaker D:I know she's not going to burn my house down.
Speaker D:I know she's not going to be wasteful of anything because I trust what I've put in her.
Speaker D:And she's now living a spirit led life because her spirit is fully locked, engaged in what we have placed in them.
Speaker D:Her dad was a chef.
Speaker D:She's learned, so she's able to be in liberty to live out everything that we taught her.
Speaker D:And she saw the mistakes along the way so she doesn't have to repeat them.
Speaker D:And now I know that that's how God is with us, that we get to live from permission.
Speaker D:We're living by permission.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker D:God, you.
Speaker D:He said, daughter, I trust everything that I put in you.
Speaker D:And the greatest thing that I put inside of you is myself.
Speaker D:If you abide in me and I abide in you because you can't bear any fruit outside of me.
Speaker D:So because I'm in you, I trust you.
Speaker D:So I get to partner with responsibility.
Speaker D:And now I'm making decisions and I'm putting things together and I'm like, dad, what do you think about this?
Speaker D:But like, Jesus, look at this.
Speaker D:Like, holy Spirit, what's your wisdom on this?
Speaker D:And this?
Speaker D:Like, you got it.
Speaker D:This is exactly what we dreamt of.
Speaker D:Do we need to add anything?
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker D:Put a pinch more kindness.
Speaker D:Put a pinch more love now.
Speaker D:Okay, that's it.
Speaker D:You sound just like me.
Speaker D:It is like, what?
Speaker D:This is what we get to do.
Speaker D:This is the spirit LED light that I get to lead.
Speaker D:I'm not being led by a chain.
Speaker D:I'm walking pros.
Speaker D:And for those of you that don't know the word pros, in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God.
Speaker D:And that word with is pros.
Speaker D:It means not like this, not like this or this.
Speaker D:It's this.
Speaker D:It's face to face.
Speaker D:He breathes in, I breathe out.
Speaker D:That's spirit land.
Speaker D:Holy spirit breathes in, I breathe out.
Speaker D:I'm pros.
Speaker D:I live a life of Pros I do life with the Trinity.
Speaker D:I do life with Jesus, I do life with Holy Spirit, I do life with Father.
Speaker D:And guess what I found out is that he likes to listen to my ideas, he likes to listen to my dreams, and then he can tweak him wherever he wants to.
Speaker D:And he says, now, girl, run.
Speaker D:And when running, I'm still being led because I'm Pros.
Speaker D:That spirit that live.
Speaker D:That spirit led living for me.
Speaker A:Sulai Ramiro, what does a spirit led life mean to you?
Speaker E:Ooh, I feel like if I was at any other stage of my life, I would say, I don't know.
Speaker E:But the beauty is that our life, all the things that happen, is due to the spirit trying to connect with us.
Speaker E:Right?
Speaker E:That's something I've been struggling to, like, understand my whole life.
Speaker E:And it wasn't until like this season of my life where I'm like, lord, I see it, you know, where, like, hardship, whether it be traumas or anxieties or fears, sadness, all the things, like, at the end of the day, they can be worked for good.
Speaker E:It's a matter of, like, connecting with the Lord.
Speaker E:And what does that look like?
Speaker E:Having a prayer life, having a Bible reading life, like, we search for truths on social media and like, all this stuff and.
Speaker E:And I know people know what I mean, but if we feel empty afterwards, like, it's just like, I don't see that.
Speaker E:Right.
Speaker E:But a spirit led life for me is getting into the Word and making time for that.
Speaker E:I used to do my devotionals before I went to bed, and something was like, you need to start the day with me.
Speaker E:Like, how are you going to survive the day?
Speaker E:You know, you know, spending time before my bed, I then go to sleep and that's it, right?
Speaker E:Yeah, but no, yeah, I think that's what it means to me.
Speaker E:Just starting my day with him, listening to him through his word, through music, through other people, making sure I'm making room for that and being okay, that maybe I don't listen to a crime podcast today, maybe today is just worship music.
Speaker E:Because what am I going to lose, right?
Speaker E:But when I don't have that time with him, there's so much I could lose.
Speaker A:Ebony L.
Speaker A:Truss.
Speaker F:What does living a spirit led life mean to me?
Speaker F:That's such a great question.
Speaker F:And I'm not sure that, you know, by and large as believers, we are very intentional about that question.
Speaker F:So I'm so glad that you asked that question, Angie.
Speaker F:What does it mean to me to lead a spirit led life?
Speaker F:And so I would say that a spirit led life means that I am in good hands.
Speaker F:It means that I am in good hands.
Speaker F:It means that because of Holy Spirit's wisdom and because of my partnership with Holy Spirit, I can trust my decisions.
Speaker F:I can trust the things that we co create.
Speaker F:I can trust myself in conversations with other people.
Speaker F:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker F:Like I.
Speaker F:I'm in good hands and I don't have to give myself this high eye or, you know, think, oh my goodness, what if I fail?
Speaker F:What if I mess up?
Speaker F:What if I make a mistake?
Speaker F:Because I'm in good hands.
Speaker F:I'm being led by Holy Spirit and I am in good hands.
Speaker F:That's what it means to me.
Speaker A:And finally, Latara Venise, what does a spirit led life look like for you?
Speaker G:Surrender.
Speaker G:Like when I said that I'm God's yes girl, that takes daily surrender.
Speaker G:Because there are sometimes as humans, when we don't want the spirit to lead us, we want to lead ourselves.
Speaker G:So, you know, it's that surrender piece.
Speaker G:There's a, there is a piece where we surrender and we wave the right flag and then we have to submit, right?
Speaker G:Because it's like, oh, wow, think about a soldier.
Speaker G:And when the soldier surrenders, they don't necessarily have to submit, but when I surrender, in order for me to stay connected to the spirit, I have to submit as well.
Speaker G:Like I have to surrender and submit to the spirit.
Speaker A:I loved hearing all these answers in one place.
Speaker A:I learned so much.
Speaker A:And it also shows how God shows up differently for each of us.
Speaker A:There is no right or wrong answer to the question.
Speaker A:God has each of us on a different path and he needs us to walk our own path, not someone else's.
Speaker A:So before we wrap up, I want to thank you for being a listener.
Speaker A:I hope you're enjoying every moment of our time together and that each episode is a source of inspiration and encouragement for your journey.
Speaker A:If you're loving what you hear, I have a small favor to ask.
Speaker A:Leaving a kind review and your podcast player might seem like a tiny act, but it makes a huge difference.
Speaker A:Your review helps more listeners discover spirit led life where they can be encouraged to find their own path of discovering a more intimate relationship with God and join our amazing community that we're building here.
Speaker A:Plus, it warms my heart to hear how these episodes resonate with you.
Speaker A:So if you have a moment today, would you mind sharing a few words?
Speaker A:Let others know what you love about spirit led life and how it's impacted you.
Speaker A:Your voice matters and I'd be so grateful for your support.
Speaker A:Thank you for being a part of this journey.
Speaker A:And remember, your review could inspire someone else to start listening and share what God has done for them.
Speaker A:For this week's Heavenly Position System Challenge, take out your journals and for the next 15 minutes or so, find a quiet spot.
Speaker A:Answer this question in your journal what does a spirit led life mean to me?
Speaker A:Now, as I close, I'm going to leave you with what a spirit led life means for me.
Speaker A:To be led by the Spirit means continuing to grow in intimacy with God and really understand who he is.
Speaker A:Knowing more of God allows me to understand His Spirit in me and to recognize the Spirit moving in my life.
Speaker A:It means to trust my experience of God and surrender more to his leading rather than allowing my head to guide me.
Speaker A:It truly is dying to myself and for me that means releasing more of the I have to have everything, figure it out or understand it.
Speaker A:And allowing the Spirit to lead me means I won't have everything figured out.
Speaker A:And how exhilarating that feels.
Speaker A:And it's scary to my mind because it wants safety and security, but trusting that God has me in his hands no matter what, I'm safe and secure with him even when I don't understand or nothing makes sense.
Speaker A:To God be the glory.
Speaker A:Thank you for joining me on today's episode.
Speaker A:This episode was produced, recorded and edited by me, Angie Robertson.
Speaker A:I look forward to joining you each Thursday for a new episode as we explore together how to have a spirit led life.
Speaker A:Sa.
Speaker G:Sa.
